Biloxi Fishing Report

Biloxi Redfish & Black Drum

If you are ready to go fishing now is the time to go! I had some friends with me today on a recon trip and we hit it BIG! We did not keep everything but we had to keep this 40lb Black Drum and this nice Redfish.

I found the MONSTER DRUM so if you’re looking to catch BIG fish you need to Book Now!

BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI POLE BENDING ACTION:

It was the day before Christmas Eve Derek and Mike boarded the Mega-Bite. With a record rain fall in Biloxi, MS the last weeks the water was very dirty. After spending some time fishing where I caught Redfish the day before, the bite was very slow. It was off to a different spot and again we got some fish but it was still slow. I told them we would find the fish before the day was over.

With a strong east wind I headed to Davis Bayou and after looking at the sonar I still didn’t see much. I set anchor after spotting a redfish in the grass. The MEGA-BITE was NOW ON and for the last hour and a half they caught one fish after another! The fish count at the end of the day was more than we took home. We had 32 Black Drum, one Redfish 22’’ and one Sheep Head. Now what I didn’t talk about is all the Redfish we caught and could not keep. The 15 undersize Redfish we let go were 16” – 17” long, so THAT ‘S 48 FISH in all!

Redfish grow about a one inch a month so by January or February we should have a lot of keeper Redfish. If you are looking to fish in February please book now it fills up fast.

BILOXI MISSISSIPPI FISHING: This was a MEGA-BITE, Steve got this 36lb Black Drum on 10lb test line, what a fight! I have this video on YouTube.

Today looked to be one of the best days for some Biloxi fishing, but looks can be deceiving. The bite was very slow with the tide coming in we where hopping the bite would pick up. The time was passing fast and I had to think hard on where to find the fish. Steve and Billy still had faith that I would find some fish. Well their time was up and we still did not have many fish in the box. I told them that I could not send them home with just a few, so I gave them extra time for free. It paid off and it was late getting back with 62 fish in the box! Oh they got the sunset cruise for free too.

It started out as a foggy day, so the Biloxi Back Bay was the spot to start. After catching plenty of under size Speckled Trout that where 12 ¾ “ just under the 13” slot. Finally we got a break in the fog and to Ship Island we went. The water was a little choppy so the bite was slow. With two hours left on the clock the water laid down and the Mega-Bite was on. After losing many fish at the boat the final count was 40 keepers. Richard, Joe and Betty had a blast and where very happy with their catch.

It did not look good with a 100% chance of rain in the Biloxi Fishing forecast. When it came time to go it was not raining. I had Herb and Megan from Baton Rouge, LA. We started fishing and it sprinkled and we kept fishing. It was not long the sun came out just as fast as is it came it went. It sprinkled again but that did not stop the fish from biting. We had to release over 15 Trout but we did get to keep plenty.
